Cardinal Corner - May 24, 2019

Dear Parents,

The attached is the final Cardinal Corner for this school year.

Wow!  Today was an especially busy one, filled with celebration, headlines from the past, creative expression, and ingenuity!  We began our day honoring Mrs. Vickie Ditchen, our Cafeteria Manger, with a beautiful Mass and reception to wish her a happy retirement.   Our first graders were visited by residents from the Cincinnati Zoo.  Third grade set up a Market Place, “selling” products they had created themselves, to study economics.  Our 8th Graders presented their cross-curriculum “newsrooms” for Language Arts and Social Studies, reporting on current events of decades past.  We were blessed by another visit from Miss Brittney Poliak, who continues to improve in her recovery.  It was a very full Friday!

IOWA scores for students in Grades 2-7 were sent home today.  With the flurry of activities, though, some of them did not make it into backpacks; please look for those to come home Tuesday.

Kindergarten and 8th Grade will graduate this week!  We celebrate the accomplishments of all these students, and wish our 8th graders the very best as they move on to high school.

As we come together to celebrate this Memorial Day weekend, let us remember and honor our fallen heroes.  May God bless their families with strength and peace, and may their sacrifice inspire in us the selfless love of Jesus.

Blessings,

Candy
