CHRISTMAS MUSICAL 2016 - December 15, 2016

K - 5 Concert Information: a MUST read !

1) ATTIRE 

All students should wear their "Christmas best" - what they might wear to church on Christmas Day - with the following in mind:

·  Girls:  Modest length dresses or skirts with appropriate shirts/blouses/sweaters.  Reds, greens, white, black...Christmas colors.  Christmas patterns and plaids in these colors are fine.

·  Boys:  Black, dark blue or khaki slacks with red, green, white or black shirt (Christmas plaids are fine, too).  Ties are welcome, but optional. 

·  Here are some "don'ts."

o No jeans, t-shirts, tank tops, outdoor jackets, sweat pants, track suits or other athletic wear

o No slogans, lettering or decals on any clothing

·  No gym shoes. Avoid "slippery" shoes (tape across the bottom can help).  Heels are not recommended for girls climbing risers.  Most students are standing and moving on risers.

·  Students are using their arms and hands in "choreography," so shirts and sweaters need to be loose enough in the shoulders for movement.

2) SEATING, EARLY ARRIVALS, EARLY DEPARTURES

·   Gym doors open for seating at 6:30.  Please warn guests who are "early arrivals" that they will not be able to claim seats earlier than 6:30. Front Row winners from the silent auction and other VIPs will have seats marked.

·  In choosing your seats, keep in mind that all girls are positioned on the left side of the stage, and all boys are on the right.

3) DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP CHILDREN

·  Children need to be in their homeroom classrooms by 6:30 p.m.  Doors into the school will be unlocked at 6:20.  

·  Children will leave their coats and other belongings in homerooms. Doors will be locked during the concert.

·  After the concert, all students will exit the gym with their class and return to homerooms. 

·  We will "hold" all audience members until we know the children have safely crossed the parking lot and are in the building.

·  Please go to homeroom to pick up your child and escort him or her to your car for safety.

4) REQUIRED ATTENDANCE

·  The elements of this concert address several academic standards found in the music curriculum, therefore, the concert is one of Mrs. Lana's assessments for music class and all students are expected to attend.  Attendance will be taken.
