Mrs. Limke is here at STM school to help ALL students who may need intervention services. Intervention services include 1:1 tutoring, small group tutoring, teacher consultation, and parent consultation.
The process to initiate intervention services starts with a teacher completing a teacher concern checklist listing the student's academic or behavioral concerns. Mrs. Limke will then meet with the teacher to give the teacher strategies to use in the classroom. This is called a Tier I intervention program. After a period of time, if the student does not make progress, Mrs. Limke will assign the student to a Tier II intervention program in which the student will meet with Mrs. Limke on a consistent basis. If data indicates that the student needs more intervention services, the student will be put on a Tier III program in which the student will see Mrs. Limke for more services.
Mrs. Limke also works heavily with students on reading. She is trained in the Orton Gillingham reading method. Orton Gillingham is a multi-sensory, systematic, repetitive, and comprehensive program. The students learn reading, spelling and writing strategies.
