ST. THOMAS MORE

POLICIES

TITLE: 306.04.04 Dress Code

St. Thomas More School enforces a dress code for both the boys and girls in order that all of our students come appropriately and modestly attired for school. It is our desire that the dress code be focused on uniformity and also be cost-effective for the parents. Uniforms jumpers, skirts and pants may be purchased from Land’s End, Schoolbelles School Wear (formerly Casson School Wear), or the school uniform exchange, which is operated by the school secretary during office hours. Bluewater Forms (753-3700) “All Star Sports” (directly across from St. Thomas More School on SR-125) and Land’s End provide spirit wear, and school uniform polo-style shirts, jackets, and a variety of other items. Clothing must be clean, fit properly and be in good condition at all times.

It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to see that their child arrives at school with the proper attire. At school it is the responsibility of the student to adhere to the standards of dress required by the dress code, such as having shirts tucked in, and wearing skirts and pants as designed, rather than rolled, or below the waist. Students whose dress is in not in compliance with the dress code will receive a warning for the first violation. Subsequent or chronic violations will be considered disciplinary offenses. In the event that a family emergency (broken washing machine, etcetera) results in deviation from the dress code, a note from the parent or guardian is required.

SWEATERS: Navy blue V-neck vest, crew necks or cardigan may be worn over shirts/blouses or turtlenecks.

SWEATSHIRTS: Students have the option of wearing St. Thomas More crew neck sweatshirts. The sweatshirts are to be red or heather with the approved STM logo. The sweatshirts MUST be worn over a school shirt or white turtleneck. Fleece pullover with STM logo is permitted as an alternative to a sweatshirt.

Body piercing, other than ears, is not permitted.
