~Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever~

I am the proud mother of three STM graduates and I am extremely fortunate to live my faith and teach my passions on a daily basis.  My primary goal in teaching is to help students realize who God wants them to be and to live as the best version of themselves.
I am enjoying my fifteenth year teaching at STM.  Our Social Studies classes are full of adventure and activities about our world. We study Geography (6), World History (7), and Early American History (8).
Education: BA from Wittenberg University, History, and Political Science. Additional coursework:  University of Cincinnati and Xavier University, Education and Methods. Member:  NCSS (National Council for Social Studies), NTSA (National Science Teachers Association). Completed:  DuFour PLC workshop, Xavier University, Google Apps for Education Training, SOITA Google Apps Admin Certification, Netdemics. WCET Digital Citizenship EducationTraining 2015 ISTE (International Society of Technology Education),2016 NSTA, National Conference. 2018 NSTA, 2018 ISTE.
These latest pics show our 6th and 7th graders at Camp Joy and our 8th grade enjoying a trip downtown Cincinnati to visit the Freedom Center.  We aren't just having fun on Field Trips!  Another picture shows 8th graders going 'old school' and learning the parts of a newspaper!

So very glad to be back to STM. A quick thank you to the STM community for its generosity in every way during last year. Your support and love gave me strength.  I am very grateful and very happy to return!
Thank you to the Teacher Appreciation Team and Mrs. Jenny Somerville for the beautiful treat on my birthday!!!

Digital Information for Parents

Please use the two new links on the right hand side of this page.  Common Sense Media for Families and for Parents.  Common Sense Media provides excellent information and resources to help us navigate all the technology that we and our children come in contact with.  You can all so check movies, books, games, apps and more to find recommendations on age appropriateness.  Resources include information for having conversations at home that are good for the whole family!

Words of Historical proportion.  The sixth grade class recorded words, in the order of importance, of things that made the world the way it is today.  Not as easy as it sounds!
A great trip to Camp Joy with the 6th grade.  We were blessed with great people and wonderful weather!
