TITLE: 305.02.02 Request for Release of Students for Health or Educational Reasons

Students may be excused from school for the purpose of alternative educational experiences or health reasons with the written approval of the principal. Requests for family vacations must be submitted in writing to the principal and approved at least ten (10) school days before the vacation. This provides adequate time for teachers to prepare work for the student. A maximum of five (5) days per school year will be excused for family vacation or alternative educational experience. All work assigned by his/her teachers is to be completed and turned in on the first day he/she returns to school. Tests missed during an absence due to vacation or alternative educational experience must be made up within five school days of the student’s return to school. Absence due to vacation is not grounds for delay of scheduled tests on the student’s return to school.
