ST. THOMAS MORE

POLICIES

TITLE: 308.02.02 Procedures to be Followed in Cases of Expulsion

Three or more suspensions or a grievous offense against the discipline code may result in a recommendation to the pastor for expulsion. In cases of expulsion, St. Thomas More School adheres to Archdiocesan guidelines, including prior consultation with a psychologist, physician, or social worker. Written notice will be sent to the pastor, parents, and the student stating the reasons for the student’s removal and proposed expulsion. A hearing will be held between the school representatives and the parents. A report will be sent to the Superintendent of Schools detailing the reasons for expulsion. Any parent who feels that their child has been wrongly expelled is entitled to request a review by the Superintendent of Schools.
