| Communication | A weekly School Update provides current information about school events. “Tell More,” a school newsletter, showcases classroom and school events. The St. Thomas More website can be found at http://www.sttmschool.org. A linked EDLINE website allows 24/7 access to school news, the entire school year calendar, and individual student progress. |
| Curriculum | All instruction is in compliance with the state approved Archdiocesan curriculum and state guidelines. Religion is taught at all grade levels, with students in grades 1-8 attending weekly Mass. |
| Health Services | A health aide is available daily for health services, including hearing and vision screenings as well as maintenance of medical records. |
| Instructional Services | Diagnostic and support services are available through state funding. Diagnostic/support services include speech, remedial reading, and remedial mathematics, as well as a tutor for our junior high students. |
| Kindergarten | We offer full-day and half-day kindergarten classes (both morning and afternoon if adequate registration is reached) which serve a maximum of 24 students each. An aide is assigned to each class. Morning kindergarten hours are 8:15 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Afternoon kindergarten, when offered, is scheduled from 12:15 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Full day kindergarten hours are 8:15 a.m.-3:00 p.m. |
| Lunch | An on-site cafeteria offers hot lunch daily for $2.00 including milk. Items available ala carte. Milk and juice are sold for 30 cents each. Snacks are 30 cents each. Fruit slushies are available for 50 cents. Parents may access their lunch accounts via E-Lunchroom to check account balance and view student purchases. |
| Office Hours | The school office is open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on school days. Summer hours are 9:00 a.m. until noon. |
| Parent Involvement | PTO, St. Thomas More Education Committee, Library and Cafeteria Volunteers, Technology Committee, Field Trip Chaperon and many other big and small opportunities are available for parent or grandparent volunteers. 50 service hours per family per school year are required, with the major portion being worked at JulyFest each year. |
| Registration Information | The following items must be brought to registration: certified birth certificate, baptismal certificate, and a school health form including immunization record. Custody papers are required for students who do not reside with both biological parents. A record release and student transfer form must be completed for students transferring from other schools. |
| Fees | Registration fee for grades 1-8 is $200 per family. Kindergarten registration is $100 per child for parishioners, $150 for non-parishioners. |
| The School Day | Classes begin at 8:15 am. Students are admitted to the building at 8:00 a.m., and dismissed at 3:00 pm. Each school day will begin with morning prayer in the gym. Students in the latchkey program may enter the school building through the north doors (main parking lot) from 6:30 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. At 7:45 a.m. the latchkey program moves to the gym for morning prayer. Students arriving between 7:45-8:15 a.m. report directly to the gym. At 8:00 a.m. homeroom teachers meet their students in the gym, where each class has a designated area for assembly. |
| Extended Day Program | An extended day program is available in the morning from 6:30 a.m. until classes begin and after school from 3:00-6:00 p.m.; additional charges are associated with this program. The extended day program is located in the Parish Dining Room. |
| Transportation | Bus transportation is provided by several school districts. (West Clermont will not transport students who reside outside of the district). Reimbursement forms are available for students residing more than two miles from St. Thomas More in the event the public school district chooses not to provide bus service. |
| Tuition | Tuition for 2007-08 School year: Grades 1-8 is as follows: $2495-1 child; $4660- 2 children; $6650- 3 children; $8200- 4 or more children. Kindergarten-Full Day- $3995; Kindergarten- 1/2 Day-$2160. Out of Parish $3800.00 Tuition for the 2008-09 school year will be set in January 2008. |
| Uniform | Girls and boys: White or red collared shirt with STM logo. Turtlenecks may be worn under school sweatshirts. Navy blue uniform pants for both boys and girls, uniform jumpers for girls grades 1-3, jumpers/skirts for grade 4 and skirts for girls in grades 5-8. The summer uniform (regular shirt or blouse with navy blue uniform shorts) may be worn from May 1 to November 1.
